'People are intimidated' - the reasons 'juggernaut' Arsenal have become the side to defeat.

There's no doubt why Arsenal stand as numerous fans' preferred choice to win the Premier League during this term.

Consider their results against West Ham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those identical matches last season.

The Gunners have beaten all of them this time around, but lost 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race in the prior campaign.

Impenetrable Backline

Arsenal's defensive solidity is a primary factor why they are seeming ready to ultimately achieve their title ambition.

They rank top for shutouts (6), goals allowed (3), opposition efforts (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is potentially the best in the league, with Arsenal keeping a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Proficiency

Their danger from dead balls is widely recognized, but opposition teams still struggle to contain the Gunners from these chances.

They have notched 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals resulting from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just fearful of them and it is excellent to see."

Championship Credentials

What is especially notable about Arsenal's beginning to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United away from home and Manchester City on home turf - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their historic competitors are struggling. This marks the premier instance at this juncture of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on boss Mikel Arteta at the start, having invested around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in pursuit of that long-awaited first title since 2004.

But the spending has so far proven successful in impressive fashion, with his side among the highest scorers in the league and possessing the strongest defense, despite several injuries.

  • Shutouts in three consecutive Premier League games
  • Nearly 6.5 hours without conceding a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and pundits have labeled Arteta's men as a "juggernaut, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now functioning with conviction and purpose.
